ShapeCard is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services and cards will be provided by our bank partner (Pending bank partner).
How bank transfers to and from ShapeCard work, and how to cancel them.
These terms apply whenever money moves between a bank account you link to ShapeCard and a ShapeCard account by ACH transfer: adding money to a debit card, paying a credit card, or returning a balance to you. They apply to you as a cardholder, and to an approver who pays for a card they manage.
You link a bank account by signing in to your bank through our secure connection provider, or by entering the routing and account numbers. You confirm that the account is a U.S. consumer checking or savings account in your own name, or one you are authorized to use, and that you have the right to authorize transfers from it. ShapeCard never sees or stores your online banking password.
Each time you ask us to move money, you authorize ShapeCard and its bank partner to make an electronic debit (or, for a refund, a credit) to the linked account for the amount and on the date you see before you confirm. That transfer is a one time transfer unless the screen clearly says it repeats, shows how often, and you agree to it.
If a transfer is made in error, you also authorize us to make a debit or credit to correct it, for no more than the amount of the error.
You may cancel a pending transfer in the app or portal until it starts processing, or by emailing support@shapecard.ai at least three business days before it is scheduled. You may revoke these terms and unlink your bank account at any time in your settings. Revoking does not undo a transfer that has already been made.
If your bank returns a transfer (for example, for insufficient funds or a closed account), we will reverse any money we made available from it, which can make your balance negative until it is repaid, and we may pause adding money from that account. Any returned payment fee is set by our bank partner and listed in your card's fee disclosures. Your own bank may also charge you a fee. We do not retry a returned transfer without asking you first.
Transfers from a consumer account are covered by the Electronic Fund Transfer Act. If you believe a transfer was wrong or not authorized, tell us at support@shapecard.ai and tell your bank. For a debit card, the error resolution steps in the Cardholder Agreement apply.
